What happens at Race Night…

Third time, and something has definitely clicked.

Our Race Night has, over the past three years, developed into one of the most anticipated events in the Bell View calendar. It has found its rhythm: the jockey lineup are known quantities now, the commentary has the confidence that comes from practice, and the audience arrives with the kind of gleeful anticipation that suggests word has got around about what sort of evening to expect.

What sort of evening? Competitive. Occasionally quite loud. Punctuated throughout by moments of physical silliness that defy easy description but are considerably improved by being experienced in person. New for 2026, our volunteer riders — and if you know, you know — gave everything, as they always do. The races were close, the betting was spirited, and the commentary maintained a standard of professional impartiality that we will leave others to judge.

If the first Race Night was an experiment and the second was a consolidation, the third was a confidence. Bell View knows how to run a Race Night now, and the community knows what to expect from one — which is to say: an evening that will leave you slightly hoarse from cheering, extremely glad you came, and quietly planning to book your place for the fourth.

Thank you to everyone who came, everyone who bet wisely (and not so wisely), everyone who cheered on the riders, and everyone who helped organise, set up and run what was a truly brilliant night. We will see you for number four.
