An Eggcellent Day

Spring came early to Bell View this year. The Easter Coffee Morning on Saturday 4th April brought the community together in exactly the way these events are meant to: with warmth, generosity, very good baking, and a children’s egg hunt that caused a level of excitement entirely disproportionate to the size of the building. The raffle was brisk, the coffee was hot, and by the end of the morning Bell View had raised just over £200 — every penny of which goes directly towards keeping the charity here for North Northumberland.

The egg hunt was a highlight for young visitors, and it would not have been possible without the generosity of Shona at Asda Tweedmouth, who donated Easter eggs as part of Asda’s Community funding. To Shona and to Asda, Bell View is genuinely grateful — that kind of community partnership makes a real difference.

None of it would have happened without the volunteer bakers and helpers who gave their time, their ovens and their considerable talents to make the morning what it was. Barbara, Diana, Georgie, Janie, Kathleen, Linda M and Margaret L — the baking was magnificent, the welcome was warm, and the morning was a credit to every one of you. Thank you for donning your bunny ears!
