Bell View Resource Centre

THE HUB

The centre has a community café ,“The Hub” ,with free internet access.  The Hub is open Monday – Friday, serving drinks and snacks.

As a Warm Space, we offer free drinks and a biscuit from 09:15 - 16:15 every weekday. As part of our Warm Hub offer, we provide soup & a roll (plus a drink) on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 12:00. All our soups are vegetarian and free from gluten or dairy products. Donations for tea/coffee/soup are accepted but not expected.

ACTIVITIES

Activities include, but are not limited to:-

Arts and crafts Friendly gatherings of people interested in arts and crafts. Groups include Art group, Craft group, Rag rug making, Card making.

Exercise A range of exercise options are available including our Mini-Gym, Sit-Fit (seated exercise), Yoga and Walking 4 Health groups.

Luncheon clubs For people who enjoy lunch! Transport is available, excellent company and a freshly cooked two-course lunch.

Door-to-Door Transport

Our ‘Bringo’ transport service provides door-to-door wheelchair accessible community transport to members. There is a suggested donation for each journey.

Trips could include visiting the doctors, friends, opticians, hairdressers, podiatry appointments or transport to and from activities at Bell View.  Prior booking is essential.

We also have fully accessible mini buses which support our day care service, luncheon clubs, shopping trips, social and cultural visits.

We are always looking for more volunteers to assist with community transport. Volunteer drivers may utilise our vehicles or choose to drive their own vehicles. Please enquire within, telephone us on 01668 219220 or email us at reception@bellviewbelford.co.uk

Community

Coffee Mornings, Fish & Chip and Soup & Sandwich Lunches

Supported by Lottery Funding, we host coffee mornings and lunches - at a variety of locations - including Beadnell, Bowsden, Glanton and Seahouses. There is a small charge for lunches.

Social Groups

We also host a weekly social gathering in Wooler, which is supported by Lottery Funding. Guests enjoy a variety of activities, companionship and a hot two-course lunch. There is a charge for this.

Bell View Food Project

We are running a food project to try to address issues of food waste. We link with local supermarkets to receive surplus food which we use to make meals to be distributed to those in need via our Food Share Bench; Lunch and Soup Club.

If you would like a meal, or know someone who would benefit please contact us. All requests are dealt with confidentially.

We are also very happy to receive surplus garden or allotment produce!
